Here are a few things to consider when you are thinking of selling your home:


  • Why are you selling? By understanding your motives, you will be able to better negotiate and get what it is you want, whether it be a quick sale, higher price, or somewhere in the middle.
  • Prepare your home for the market - Maximize the strengths of your property and make repairs. You want the buyer to walk away from your home with a lasting good impression.
  • Find a good real estate agent that understands your needs - Your agent will be negotiating on your behalf and walking you through the entire escrow process. Make sure that your agent is upfront, honest and communicative with you. 
  • Be prepared for negotiation - Learn and understand your buyer’s situation; what are their motives? Can you demand a big deposit from them? Can they be flexible with their demands to ensure you get what you need as well? As your agent, I will work hard to lock in the buyer for the deal to close according to agreed upon contract terms.
  • Negotiate for the best price and the best terms - We will discuss how to counter offer to get maximum value from every offer.
  • Make sure the contract is accurate and complete - Be honest with your disclosures; you do not want to lose the deal because you were lying or diminishing your home’s defects. Insist the buyers get a professional inspection. This will protect both you and the buyer.
